Are You Getting Through to Your Prospects?

by Martin Neumann on June 17, 2006

Zookoda.gifBuilding an email list of prospects is no doubt one of your highest priorities as an information publisher.

Any successful online marketer understands that it’s a tough gig getting a sale from a first time visitor. The odds are more likely you’ll get that sale after keeping in contact for a while and building a decent level of trust.

Hence why email broadcasting services are one of the hottest tools being used by todays bloggers to keep in close touch with their readers and prospects.

I have used two services extensively - FeedBlitz and Zookoda - and have sampled one other - FeedBurner. Lately, I have turned solely to Zookoda simply because for me it offers a better user interface (also the reason why I prefer NewsGator Online over BlogLines for my rss needs).

But I was quite surpised when I came upon this research and write up - Are Your Subscribers Getting Your Newsletters?

94% of the newsletters arrived in my inbox from FeedBlitz, but only 60% from Zookoda.

The article goes into a little more detail and breaks down the research and is really a must read for those utilizing email marketing - you are utilizing email marketing, right?

feedburner_logo.pngI guess I’ll have to take a closer look at FeedBlitz again (and try out FeedBurner). But from the results it’s really hard to recommend Zookoda … and here I was betting my horses that it would be the one to break out (it still might, though).

Or maybe your list is too important for you to be outsourcing the basics and ending up not being sure if everything works together. Might be time to take it back in-house and get some control back.

Before anyone gives up on Zookoda, try reading my new post on how to select a newsletter service.
