A Day of Silence …

Have you ever wanted to create one of those virtual software boxes for your e-product?
It’s been proven that even though you’re selling a virtual product (ie: you will be holding nothing in your hands upon delivery) having an eCover that represents the product gives it that extra edge.
Creating a Software Box with Photoshop is an easy tutorial coming from (wait for it …) TutorialBlog. :-)
I’m no design superstar but I can (just) get around Photoshop and in an hour or so I created what I thought was a nifty little virtual cover for one of my upcoming information products.
If you’re confident in your design skills then I’d say go for it - but be warned: a virtual cover that’s butt ugly will do your sales more damage than good - so if you’re design-challenged to the extremes then I’d suggest getting in a professional it’s well worth the money spent.
Following are all insightful reads about the information products industry. I don’t necessarily agree with all that’s written but regardless, they’re insightful and give some food for thought.
Note: this will be a weekly feature.

Give me some time to settle into this routine of weekly roundups - as I don’t want to just slap up a handful of links and away you go. I want to give my opinions on each link so as to carry on the conversation.
I encourage all to continue on with the conversations either here in the comments or over at the blogs in question.
An interesting post by Aaron Wall, famous for his SEOBook and blog where he discusses some of the pitfalls he has encountered through his successful ebook and blog that promotes it.
6 Reasons I Shouldn’t Blog (and Sell an ebook) really offers an amazing insight into some of the dredges of society - stealing, expecting to resell his ebook, doing the old chargeback thing.
Number two made me laugh…
My sales letter states clearly that my ebook is an ebook. And my mini sales letter says available for your immediate download. Yet daily I get asked when it will ship.
When you enter the information publishing business these are just some of the many things you have to deal with. Gladly, it’s only a small percentage of society that makes life crap. The vast majority makes it all worth while.
The greedy dredges of society that go after those who are successful really get my blood boiling - you just have to deal with it. It’s mostly BS and it can drag you down but that’s the price of success.

Note: I have a copy of Aaron’s SEOBook which I am reviewing more for it’s layout and design rather than it’s content (although I must say it’s an intriguing read … and it’s not all about SEO)
